The locomotive is virtually a stonesthrow from where it finished its BR career in August 1968 at the nearby Lostock Hall Depot. The back line connects the East Lancashire Line at Lostock Hall to the WCML at Farington Junction just north of Leyland. The short section of line was wired for use by electric traction in 1972.
