483009, 483002 & 483008 at Ryde St Johns Road.1 views50% of the Island Line fleet was stabled in the depot yard at Ryde St Johns Road on the afternoon of July 1st 2014. In the foreground is 483009 on number 1 road, 483002 stands on number 2 road, whilst in the background in the cleaning bay is 483008. 483002 is the spare non-operational unit.

483002 (225) at Ryde St Johns Road.1 views483002 is the non-operational spare unit of the six remaining on Island Line. The unit is a hybrid formed of cars 122 & 225. 225 seen here was originally one half of set 483005. The original car from 483002 (222) & that from 483005 (125) were scrapped in 2000. With parts missing and in a less than pristine condition, the unit was stabled on number 2 road at Ryde St Johns Road Depot on July 1st 2014.

483006 at Alresford Road, Shanklin.2 views483006 is into the early stages of its journey with the 09.38 Shanklin to Ryde Pier Head on July 3rd 2014. The unit is approaching the footbridge at Alresford Road on the outskirts of Shanklin.

483009 Smallbrook Junction.1 viewsOpened on July 20th 1991, Smallbrook Junction is an interchange for the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. Island Line services only call here when the steam railway is operating. The station is quite isolated, with no footpath or road access. 483009 calls with the 15.49 Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin on July 6th 2014.

483009 arrives at Brading.1 views483009 arrives at Brading with the 16.18 Shanklin to Ryde Pier Head on July 6th 2014. Until 1988 there was double track running south from Brading to Sandown. There have been suggestions in recent years to install a passing loop here to increase operational flexibility and to recast the timetable.
