Freightliner 86604 & 86605 at Basford Hall Yard Crewe.4 viewsHaving worked in multiple, Freightliner 86s, 86604 & 86605 stand together in Basford Hall Yard at Crewe on March 26th 2011. Both locomotives entered traffic, new in 1965, but from different sources. 86604 was constructed at Doncaster Works, as E3103, whilst 86605 was built at Vulcan Foundry at Newton-Le-Willows, emerging as E3185. The two locos have a combined working life of over 90 years!

86609 at Basford Hall Yard Crewe.4 viewsLooking like an old War Horse, work stained & battered, class 86 86609 stands in Basford Hall Yard at Crewe on March 26th 2011. The loco was a product of Doncaster Works in 1965, and entered traffic as E3102.

91122 at Marholm.1 viewsStill in GNER blue livery, 91122 provides the power at the rear of an Edinburgh to Kings Cross, East Coast Trains service, passing Marholm on the northern approach to Peterborough on the 11th June 2011.

Freightliner 86612 & 86613 at Farington Junction.1 viewsMaking a welcome sight, Sister locos 86612 & 86613 pass Farington Junction on the Up Slow whilst working 4M74 from Coatbridge to Crewe Basford Hall on April 22nd 2015.
86612 was new from Doncaster Works as E3122 in October 1965 and 86613 followed from the same workshop numbered E3128 a month later in November 1965. Both locomotives will hopefully celebrate their 50th birthday later in 2015.

Freightliner 86501 at Crewe Basford Hall Yard.1 viewsThe unique Class 86, 86501 stands in Basford Hall Yard at Crewe on April 25th 2015. Formerly 86608 in the Freightliner fleet the locomotive was regeared in 2000 to improve its haulage capabilities.
The picture was taken on an official visit to the yard under the supervision of Freightliner staff.

90050 at Crewe Basford Hall Yard.0 viewsThe last Class 90 built at Crewe, 90050 in a sorry state awaiting disposal in Basford Hall Yard at Crewe on April 25th 2015. The loco has suffered fire damage and spent a considerable time in store at LNWR Crewe, before passing to Freightliner in November 2014.

86247 at Crewe Basford Hall Yard.0 viewsHeavily stripped for spares, 86247 in Europhoenix livery awaits its fate in Basford Hall Yard at Crewe on April 25th 2015. The loco was new from Vulcan Foundry as E3192 in December 1965.
