The tour ultimate destination was the Heysham Harbour Branch. The Deltic is sat only half a mile away from the former English Electric Works on Strand Road, where in 1955, the Prototype Deltic was constructed.

The era of the Metro-Cammell built tank wagons was drawing to a close, with a fleet of new tank wagons about to be introduced on the Lindsey to Preston Dock Workings.

66139 - North Union Bridge, Preston8 views66139 with 6M32 from Lindsey Oil Refinery to Preston Docks, traverses the little used girder section on the North Union Bridge over the River Ribble on the approach to Preston Station. The train is using the down goods line. 15th April 2011.
Sentinel 10280 at Courtaulds Ribbleton.6 viewsIts the end of the line for the resident diesel shunter at Courtaulds Rayon Factory at Ribbleton on the 12th February 1980. The loco is seen at the furthest extremity of the rail system in use at the southern end of the site. With the trees of Red Scar Wood in the background the loco was stood in the coal storage area. The works had just seen the last train of empty coal wagons depart for Wigan. The loco was eventually to move to the Courtaulds British Celanese Plant at Spondon near Derby.
Class 47s 47768 & 47627 with GNER stock at Maudland Jct.10 viewsRes liveried 47768-'Resonant' & EWS maroon liveried 47627 pass Maudland Junction with a Wolverton to Craigentenny ECS working on the 25th April 1998. Complete with barrier vehicle the 47 duo were moving newly refurbished GNER Mk3 HST trailer coaches. Preston Power Box is in the background. Photography is now impossible at this location, as the saplings in the foreground have now grown into full blown trees
