Class 104s at Salwick.7 viewsNot the best of images, but it shows the ex LYR canopy at Salwick Station, and a pair of 3-Car class 104 DMUs, complete with Manchester-Blackpool white stripes, a familiar sight on services between Manchester Victoria and Blackpool North in the 1970s. In this scene from 1977, the units are Blackpool bound. Salwick was on the on-time four track section between Preston and Kirkham, heavily used in the days when the routes to Blackpool were busy with excursion traffic.
