Class 47, 47011 at Dawlish.6 viewsAllocated to Bescot Depot, 47011 complete with silver roof, passes Dawlish with an Eastbound Speedlink working on the 29th May 1986. The locomotive first emerged from the Brush Works at Loughborough in September 1963, numbered D1538. It was an Eastern Region allocated machine, spending time at various depots, until 1985 when it was moved to Cardiff Canton. It was withdrawn from Bescot Depot in 1987 and scrapped at Booths Rotherham in 1994.

Class 91, 91109 departs from York.0 viewsClass 91, 91109-'Sir Bobby Robson' in East Coast livery, gets away from York with the 07.30 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh Service on July 28th 2012. After a high speed slog, the 91 should be in the Scottish Capital at 12.15.

DRS 57308 at Preston.2 viewsA very clean DRS Class 57/3, 57308 -'County of Staffordshire' runs through platform 3 at Preston on September 14th 2013. The loco was the Preston 'Thunderbird' for Virgin Trains.
57308 had been the last of the class 57/3 fleet to carry the former Virgin Trains silver livery.

RES Propelling Control Vehicle 94306 at Hellifield.0 viewsObtained from DB Schenker as a source of spares for the West Coast Railway carriage fleet, Withdrawn RES liveried PCV 94306 (306) was in the WCRC sidings at Hellifield on May 5th 2014. The vehicle was converted from a Class 307 Driving Trailer formerly numbered 75112. The conversions were done by Hunslet-Barclay at Kilmarnock between 1994 & 1996. When the contract to carry mail was lost by EWS in 2004 the vans became redundant. 94306 had been in store at Tyne Yard.

EPS 37601 - Folkestone Harbour.0 viewsAs the tide begins to come in, 37601 sits on the viaduct at Folkestone Harbour with the Pathfinder Tours 'Atomic Harbourmaster' railtour on October 20th 2007. Out of sight at the other end of the train was fellow EPS class 37, 37603. This was one of the last diesel hauled trains to traverse this line. The itinerary on that day included a trip along the Dungeness Branch. It was a long day - an 06.15 start from Crewe on Saturday morning and only getting back to Crewe at 01.24 on Sunday morning!Dec 10, 2015

37013 at Farington Curve Junction.0 views37013 trundles along the Up Slow as it approaches Farington Curve Junction whilst working the Saturday only Blackpool North to Sheffield formed of Mark 1 stock on August 13th 1983. This was a time-honoured Summer service that ran out and back on a Saturday running via East Lancashire and Copy Pit.

08954 at Plymouth.2 viewsWith the roof tops of Plymouth as a backdrop, 08954 was shunting parcel and mail vans at Plymouth station on July 26th 1980. This was a time-honoured scene at all major stations - now sadly consigned to history. The 08 was new from Darington Works in October 1962 numbered D4184, its first home was at Ebbw Junction (86A) and it was tranferred to Laira (84A) in May 1971.Nov 07, 2015
