142049 at Blackpool South.0 viewsIn the then newly applied bright revised Merseyrail livery, 142049 stands at Blackpool South with the 12.09 to Colne on May 4th 2002. Serving the southern end of Britains biggest holiday resort, how this line has been allowed to wither away is an absolute disgrace. Behind the 142 tracks once led to Blackpool Central, situated by the seafront in the shadow of the famous Tower. Why not extend the line back through the expanse of car parks to a terminus near the seafront once more?

483007 (227) at Sandown.0 views483007 pauses in the evening light at Sandown on July 10th 2014 with the 18.49 Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin. A refreshment room/cafe is now open once again in the station building, bringing some activity to the place between trains. A far cry though from the Summer Saturdays in the 1950s and 1960s when queues would form outside the station both here and at Shanklin, such was the volume of passengers returning home following the end of their holidays.

EPS 37601 - Folkestone Harbour.0 viewsAs the tide begins to come in, 37601 sits on the viaduct at Folkestone Harbour with the Pathfinder Tours 'Atomic Harbourmaster' railtour on October 20th 2007.
