Class 104, M50478 at Blaenau Ffestiniog.1 mol gekuckt ginnA day excursion from East Lancashire to Llandudno and Blaenau Ffestiniog, brought a 10-Car DMU formation to North Wales on the 25th May 1978, Stabled in the remains of the former Goods Yard at what was then the terminus for services from Llandudno Junction. The line running to left of the picture still ran Southwards and was the remains of the former line to Bala, retained for Nuclear Flask Trains to Trawsfynydd Power Station. The route of the then dormant Ffestiniog Railway is to the rear of the station.

Ex BR Class 04, D2272 at Blackburn King Street.4 mol gekuckt ginnEx BR Drewry Class 04, D2272 was stabled at the North end of the Coal Concentration Depot at Blackburn King Street on a dull August 20th 1979. The Loco was new in March 1958, and was withdrawn in October 1970 from Bradford Hammerton Street Depot as part of the BR National Traction Plan which rationalised the numbers and types of locomotives in use on BR. The Loco is now in the collection of the Heritage Shunters Trust at Rowsley, awaiting restoration.

Ex BR ZM32 (Ex Horwich Works) - Steeple Grange Light Railway.0 mol gekuckt ginnThis diminutive ex BR locomotive, ZM32 was listed in the Ian Allan loco books in the years 1957 to 1965 when it was employed on the 18" system that served the former Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Works at Horwich, near Bolton. Built by Ruston & Hornsby, Works Number 416214, the loco now operates at the Steeple Grange Light Railway near Wirksworth. August 25th 2013.

EPS 37601 - Folkestone Harbour.0 mol gekuckt ginnAs the tide begins to come in, 37601 sits on the viaduct at Folkestone Harbour with the Pathfinder Tours 'Atomic Harbourmaster' railtour on October 20th 2007. Out of sight at the other end of the train was fellow EPS class 37, 37603. This was one of the last diesel hauled trains to traverse this line. The itinerary on that day included a trip along the Dungeness Branch. It was a long day - an 06.15 start from Crewe on Saturday morning and only getting back to Crewe at 01.24 on Sunday morning!10. 37013 at Farington Curve Junction.0 mol gekuckt ginn37013 trundles along the Up Slow as it approaches Farington Curve Junction whilst working the Saturday only Blackpool North to Sheffield formed of Mark 1 stock on August 13th 1983. This was a time-honoured Summer service that ran out and back on a Saturday running via East Lancashire and Copy Pit.

08954 at Plymouth.2 mol gekuckt ginnWith the roof tops of Plymouth as a backdrop, 08954 was shunting parcel and mail vans at Plymouth station on July 26th 1980. This was a time-honoured scene at all major stations - now sadly consigned to history. The 08 was new from Darington Works in October 1962 numbered D4184, its first home was at Ebbw Junction (86A) and it was tranferred to Laira (84A) in May 1971.07. November 2015
