60097 at Morecambe Promenade.2 viewsAt the head of the Pathfinder 'Lancastrian' Tour, Class 60 60097 arrives at the doomed Morecambe Promenade Station on the 22nd May 1993. The train reversed here to traverse the branch to Heysham Port. The ex Midland Railway Signalbox dating from 1907, closed in 1994 along with the seafront terminus. The replacement station was sited where the signalbox was located.

31414 at Exeter St Davids.5 viewsA rather battered looking Class 31/4, 31414 has backed on to a Saturday Only, 7-Coach Paddington to Barnstaple through service on July 25th 1979. This service was in the tradition of the 'withered arm' - Summer holiday trains from London working into deepest Devon on former Southern territory. Exeter St Davids was still controlled by GWR/Western Region Lower Quadrant Signals. Alongside 31414 is a loaded Brute trolley filled with parcels, destined for the vans stabled in the former Exe Valley Bay Platform.

378205 arrives at Harrow & Wealdstone.1 views378205 arrives at Harrow & Wealdstone whilst working a London Overground Watford Junction to London Euston, DC Lines Service on September 9th 2012. A 1972 Tube Stock unit is tucked away in the turnback siding ready to follow with a Bakerloo Line service.
To the right of the 378 is the site of the horrific triple collision that occurred here on the morning of October 8th 1952 at 8.19am. There were 112 fatalities, and almost 60 years on, the platform walls still bear the scars.

150224 arrives at Prescot.0 views150224 arrives at Prescot with the 15.08 Wigan North Western to Liverpool Lime Street service on April 18th 2014. Newly-erected electrification masts are all along the route here. Apartment blocks now stand on what was the biggest employer in Prescot, the former BICC cables factory.

EPS 37601 - Folkestone Harbour.0 viewsAs the tide begins to come in, 37601 sits on the viaduct at Folkestone Harbour with the Pathfinder Tours 'Atomic Harbourmaster' railtour on October 20th 2007. Out of sight at the other end of the train was fellow EPS class 37, 37603. This was one of the last diesel hauled trains to traverse this line. The itinerary on that day included a trip along the Dungeness Branch. It was a long day - an 06.15 start from Crewe on Saturday morning and only getting back to Crewe at 01.24 on Sunday morning!Dec 10, 2015

37013 at Farington Curve Junction.0 views37013 trundles along the Up Slow as it approaches Farington Curve Junction whilst working the Saturday only Blackpool North to Sheffield formed of Mark 1 stock on August 13th 1983. This was a time-honoured Summer service that ran out and back on a Saturday running via East Lancashire and Copy Pit.

08954 at Plymouth.2 viewsWith the roof tops of Plymouth as a backdrop, 08954 was shunting parcel and mail vans at Plymouth station on July 26th 1980. This was a time-honoured scene at all major stations - now sadly consigned to history. The 08 was new from Darington Works in October 1962 numbered D4184, its first home was at Ebbw Junction (86A) and it was tranferred to Laira (84A) in May 1971.Nov 07, 2015
