47339 at Bamber Bridge.
In the attractive Railfreight red stripe livery, 47339 trundles a lengthy consist of engineers wagons out of the bi-directional loop at Bamber Bridge on a warm June 20th 1989. The train has originated in the DCE sidings at Brownedge visible above the 47. The sidings ran parallel to the direct East Lancashire Route to Preston via Todd Lane Junction that was closed in 1972. Beyond the sidings is the Baxi Heating factory, now long gone the area is covered by a housing development.
