AC Electric, Class 83 83008 at Lostock Hall Depot.
One can only speculate why 83008 was at the former Lostock Hall Depot on July 30th 1981. The former engine shed was then in use as a wagon repair depot and much of the former steam-age infrastructure was still in evidence. On the left adjacent to No.1 road is the bay window of what had been the foremans office. The depot was the last steam shed on BR, and has since been demolished. 83008 was built at Vulcan Foundry in November 1960 numbered E3031. Withdrawn in 1983, it was scrapped by Vic Berry in 1984.
