New Trains Banner at Sandown.
The First of the long overdue replacement Island Line 1938 Stock trains arrived on the Isle of Wight in July 1989. For the launch of 483001 all the newly painted stations were decked in bunting and displayed 'The New Island Line Trains are Here' banners. This is the one at Sandown on July 15th. In the event it was a little premature as the newly arrived unit spent most of its time that Summer on the Ryde Pier shuttle and it was not until late September until the next unit, 483002 arrived from Eastleigh.
