Class 08, 08925 Preston Station Pilot Loco.
The Preston Station Pilot Loco, 08925 stands in the short bay at the North end of platform 3 on the 31st January 1989. The track alignment where the 08 is stabled is the way the Northbound tracks were orientated before the 1902 remodelling of the track layout, done to eliminate the sharp curves North of the Station, upon which an LNWR Scotch Express was derailed in July 1896. 08925 was built at Horwich Works and entered service in December 1962, numbered D4155.
