47480 at Vigo on the Lickey Incline.
An ailing 47480-'Robin Hood' splutters up the Lickey Incline at Vigo whilst struggling to lift a SW/NE service up the 1in37 gradient on September 5th 1981. The loco had expired at the foot of the incline and the following service, hauled by 47035 pushed the train up the bank until the driver of 47480 managed to get the engine re-started. Once underway, 47480 and its train of MkI stock pulled away. The incident caused chaos on a busy Summer Saturday with trains not being able to get a run at the incline.
